Hank has been professionally involved with Technology since 1973.
Hank began his career as a field service engineer supporting Univac and Varian computers. He moved quickly to technical support where he wrote diagnostic utilities utilizing machine language. He shifted to management in 1979 and became the Operations Manager for a telephone equipment provider. He then moved to the end user community in 1982 as the Communications Manager for the Conrail trucking operations. While there, he managed the communication requirements for 32 locations, initiated accounting controls that reduced the budget 40% and implemented their first PC LAN, a Corvus Omninet.
He returned to the technical arena in 1985 as a consultant. Originally focusing on telephone systems and voice networks, he would be drawn into the networking projects due to his varied background. An opportunity was presented in 1989 to design a test LAN utilizing new equipment that could operate over telephone cables for the U.S. Navy. He discovered that this equipment was very dependant upon the quality and design of the cable infrastructure. As new standards were released, he was called to design an infrastructure that could support Ethernet over Unshielded Twisted Pair cable for an administrative LAN in each U.S. Naval medical facility. He also managed the implementation, testing and acceptance for these facilities.
Since that time, Hank has specialized in the design of the communications infrastructure. He has worked in hospitals, hotels, manufacturing, research, and office environments. He has experience with new construction, renovations, building re-stack and in-place cabling grades. He has worked with campus designs and has generated bid documents in both stand-alone and construction bid formats with the supporting drawings.
Hank has completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Villanova University, Cum Laude and has attended Postgraduate courses at the University of Pennsylvania.
